about us
Who are we?
We are two young girls, both veterinary and pharmaceutical executives, who lost their animals and felt they had been failed in the process (cremation/funeral). They left everything to found FUNERALVET.. We decided that it would not happen to anyone else, so FUNERALVET was born because our animals deserve a dignified farewell and to be able to honour them, they are part of us.
We must live up to the love they have given us for so many years.

FAQ
Types of Cremation:
- IndividualIn this case, the pet is cremated individually. It is more expensive, but allows the owner to keep the ashes in an urn as a tribute to the animal.
- CollectiveHere, cremation is carried out together with other pets. It is not possible to recover the ashes in this case.
- Laws and Regulations:
- In Spain, the Law 10/98 on Waste and the Regulation on epizootic diseases are the main legal frameworks dealing with the management of pet waste.
- These laws establish procedures for the collection, storage and disposal of animal carcasses. Private services are usually responsible for collection and initial handling.
- Cremation Process:
- Owners can choose between the individual cremation o collective for your pets.
- Individual CremationIn this case, the pet is cremated individually. The process is similar to human cremation. After cremation, the owners can receive the ashes in an urn.
- Collective CremationHere, several animals are cremated together. The ashes cannot be recovered individually.
- Ethical and Emotional Aspects:
- Cremation offers a dignified way to say goodbye to your beloved animal.
- Some owners choose to keep the ashes at home as a souvenir, carry them with them in accessories or jewellery, scatter the ashes in significant places as long as it is legal and with specific urns for that purpose, and even bring a new life to life by turning the remains into a beautiful tree or plant.
In short, the regulation of pet cremations seeks to ensure proper and respectful handling of the remains, providing options for owners to honour the memory of their furry companions.
A pet funeral service is a process that allows owners to say goodbye to their beloved furry companions in a respectful and dignified manner.
A wake for pets is a place where owners can say goodbye to their beloved furry companions before their departure.
Individual pet cremation is a service in which the body of your beloved pet is cremated individually, ensuring that the ashes you receive are unique to your pet and are not mixed with those of other animals. This process is a respectful and personalised option to say goodbye to your furry companion. During individual cremation, the animal is cremated alone in the cremation chamber, and the process takes approximately three hours. If you wish, family members can be present during this emotional moment. It is a way of honouring your pet and preserving his or her ashes in a unique way.
Collective cremation is carried out when several animals are cremated together in the same furnace, and in this case, the ashes are not returned to the owners. Therefore, individual cremation allows the recovery of the ashes, whereas in collective cremation, the return of the ashes is not possible.
The decision to opt for the individual cremation o collective for a pet is staff and depends on the owner's preferences and beliefs. Here are some considerations that may help in making a decision:
- Emotional bond: If you have a strong emotional bond with your pet and wish to preserve his or her ashes exclusively, the individual cremation is the right choice. This allows you to receive the ashes and honour your furry companion in a personal way.
- PrivacyIndividual cremation ensures that the ashes you receive are only those of your pet. If you value privacy and wish to maintain a special connection with your pet, this option is the most appropriate.
- Final testimonySome owners prefer to be present during the individual cremation as a last testimony of love and farewell. If you wish to be present during the process, individual cremation is the right choice.
- Personal beliefsSome owners have religious or spiritual beliefs that influence their choice. If you have specific considerations related to your pet's afterlife, take them into account.
Ultimately, the decision should be based on what you feel is best for you and your pet. Consult with a funeral professional for more information and guidance specific to your circumstances.
According to current legislation in Spain, it is forbidden to bury animals in unauthorised places. Therefore, you cannot bury a pet in the countryside or in your garden. However, there are other options available:
- Collective incinerationIn this case, the body of the pet is cremated together with other animals.
- Individual incineration: An individual cremation is carried out for our pet.
It is important to learn about local laws and follow the appropriate legal procedures when faced with the loss of a pet. Although it is a painful time, we must make decisions that honour and respect our beloved furry companions. 🐾
A pet funeral home is a place that specialises in the respectful treatment of deceased pets. These establishments offer a variety of services to honour the life and legacy of our beloved pets. Here are some of their functions:
IncinerationPet funeral parlours have certified facilities for cremation of deceased animals. You can opt for a collective cremation, where the remains are placed in a common grave for ashes, or an individual cremation, where you will be offered the ashes as a memento of your pet. Some funeral homes allow you to personally attend the individual cremation process at a wake.
Other servicesSome funeral homes also provide additional services, such as home pick-up or veterinary clinic pick-up of the deceased animal. They also offer options for personalised memorials, such as headstones or memorial plaques.
In Spain, when a pet dies, it is compulsory to notify the animal identification census register and cremation must be carried out in authorised centres. Pet funeral homes are a special alternative to say goodbye to our faithful friends with respect and affection. 🐾
The cancellation of a pet animal due to death must be accompanied by a document certifying that it has been cremated or buried by an officially recognised company. For more information Law 7/2023 of 28 March on the Protection of Animal Rights and Welfare
